ZwakalaRide (i.e. Zwakala) is a multi-association/transporter e-hailing app designed to make it easy for commuters/customers to get transport services such as:
• Meter taxis
• Goods delivery service
• Cargo trucks.
Zwakala has no registration fees, no licensing fees, and no maintenance fees. Transporters and drivers can do online registration.
Calling your transport
Firstly users need to sign on through their google user account, then update contact details for ease of communication with drivers.
To call transport the following steps are needed:
1. Open the “Requests” from the menu
2. Identify pick-up and drop-off locations
3. Select vehicle (i.e. meter taxis, delivery service or cargo trucks)
4. Press on “Confirm request”
5. Wait for the driver to arrive
6. Rate the driver at the end of the ride.
Accepting customer requests
Drives are expected to update their contact details for ease of communication with commuters. They also need to have credit on Zwakala account to receive requests.
To accept a request, the following steps are needed:
1. Open “Drivers” the menu
2. Press on “go_online”
3. Wait for a request to be assigned to you.
4. Press on “Take request” or ignore. No penalties for ignoring requests.
5. Drive to the customer
6. Press on “Arrived at customer”. You may call the customer or send the message.
7. Press on “Start the trip” once the customer is ready to go.
8. Press on “End the Trip” to close the request.
9. Rate the customer.
As a multi-association/transporter e-hailing service, Zwakala will dispatch to the closest driver from any transporter.
This service is maintained through six percent (i.e. 6%) from fares, for example: If a trip costs 20.00 ZAR, only 1.20 ZAR goes to Zwakala.
Management for associations/transporters can set their commissions to generate additional income, for example:
• with a commission of 4%, 90% goes to the driver.
• with a commission of 6%, 88% goes to the driver.
• vouchers are excluded for commission.
Public route and ranks
Zwakala also offers a free mapping of public transport routes and ranks. This module enables commuters to find the shortest routes/path between two locations. Accuracy depends on mapped routes. Future releases will include viewing of online transits in real-time.
